what we do

Creditors’ Rights

We work with collection agencies and service providers across the State of Ohio to recover balances owed on business and consumer debt through pre-litigation and litigation. This includes outreach to the consumer prior to litigation and if that fails, representing creditors throughout the litigation process. We are versed in the FDCPA and regularly provide our clients with guidance to remain compliant with consumer protection laws. We also represent clients when they find themselves as Defendants in State or Federal Court.

Both Chris and Bill worked in consumer collections both before, during, and after law school. This experience has enabled them to create an efficient litigation model that is based in working with consumers to find voluntary resolution to collection matters.

Small Business/ Entrepreneur

Running a small business is riddled with legal issues, some big, some small. We guide our clients through the process to help them identify issues that demand attention versus issues that can wait. This includes drafting and amending corporate governance, operating agreements, buy-sells, reviewing employee classifications, purchasing assets, real estate, and other matters.

As small business owners themselves, Chris and Bill are mindful of budgets and cash flow. They pride themselves in providing the client with only what it needs.

Estate Planning

A proper estate plan is something that everyone should have. It provides security for your loved ones and peace of mind for everyone. And, it provides a road map to courts and heirs as to whom should receive your property after death.

Having an estate plan can range from a simple Last Will and Testament, to a more elaborate testamentary trust. We will sit down, discuss your goals, your budget, and go over your estate. Whatever it is that you want to do, we’ll discuss your options and the pros and cons of each.

Probate

Probate is the process that occurs after a person’s death. The executor or administrator is appointed and the decedent’s estate is inventoried and distributed. This is a fairly straightforward process that should not cost an arm and a leg. Make sure you hire an attorney who is familiar with the area so you’re not paying for your professional to get up to speed.
