Chris Murphy, Principal, Attorney
Primary practice areas of creditors’ rights, small business/entrepreneur, probate and transactional representation. Chris has worked in the area of revenue cycle and consumer collections since before he attended law school. He regularly represents collection agencies, hospitals, universities, service providers, and utilities in State and Federal court across the State of Ohio.
Chris also has a wealth of experience working with regulated entities in enforcement actions brought by state and local regulators. This includes health departments, Ohio EPA, BUSTR, and local boards. Chris has experience devising procedures to ensure client compliance on an on-going basis.
Chris has handled the probate administration and trust administration of a number of estates. He prefers to work with his fiduciaries to empower them to handle the work to keep attorney fees low. Of course, if the client would prefer that our office handle the heavy lifting, we can do that too. Chris has a lot of first hand experience with clients with special needs, aging parents, and elder law issues.
Chris has represented small businesses and partnerships on matters of internal governance, buy/sell executions, employment issues, and purchase agreements. In addition to working with clients before courts and regulators, Chris engages in legislative efforts on behalf of his clients meeting with elected officials and testifying at the State House on issues impacting his clients and their industries.
Chris resides in Westerville, Ohio with his two daughters, and in his spare time pursues woodworking, golf, and enjoying the outdoors.

Bill Petty, Attorney
Bill received his bachelor’s degree in criminology, with a minor in business, at The Ohio State University in 2009. He received his law degree at Capital University in 2012.
Bill primarily focuses his practice in general, civil legal matters. He represents many different types of creditors in civil litigation assisting with debt liquidation. He is experienced with small and family owned business legal matters such as formation, partnership agreements, corporate governance, and contract negotiations/drafting. Bill has assisted several existing and startup non-profit corporations with bylaw creation, as well as, obtaining 501(c)(3) IRS tax exempt status. Bill also assists clients with a multitude of real property issues including transactions, disputes, and easements. He also can assist individuals with legitimate personal or property injury/damage claims. Bill is experienced with estate planning, probating decedents’ estates, and beneficiary representation.
Bill was a member of the Ohio Army National Guard for 8 years as a paralegal in the JAG Corp. Bill is a member of the American Legion. He is also a participates with several organizations involved in wild game and habitat conservation such as the Ruffed Grouse Society, Pheasants Forever, and North American Hunting Dog Association. Bill volunteers as the Vice President of the Mid-Ohio Chapter of NAVHDA and as a member of the hunt committee of the American Wirehaired Pointing Griffon Association.
Bill lives just north of Columbus on a small farm where he enjoys spending time with his daughter, Izzy. In his free time, he hunts with and trains his two Wirehaired Pointing Griffons, Louie and Mya.
Amy David, Paralegal
Amy started with the firm in 2013, and is a vital part of our team. She has worked int he collection industry for over 15 years working both in-house for agencies and also working for attorneys. Amy is familiar with all stages of civil litigation, document preparation, and regularly interacts with court officials.
Amy obtained her B.A. from Tiffin University in Criminology, is a native of Michigan, and despite our best efforts, is an avid fan of the University of Michigan. She lives in Westerville and pursues art in her free time.
